The Addictive Behavior and Treatment Group

The Addictive Behaviors and Treatment group focuses on the neural underpinnings of addictive behaviors, specifically the internet gaming disorder and nicotine addiction. Based on these findings, Dong’s team also tries to explore potential none-invasive treatment strategies to help reduce cravings to relevant drugs/games in an aim to help the recovering from addiction. Examples of these non-invasive treatments are brain modulation using rTMS, neural feedback on in facing gaming cues and more. The research tools used by the team includes, but not limited to, fMRI, ERP and rTMS. This team had published more than 70 English papers and had attracted attention around the world. Several published papers of this team were highly-cited in ESI Journals.
